Sinchi Music's always-interesting Altered States series hits volume number 10 and again curates a wide range of exciting talents from across the globe with music from Brazil, Mexico, the US, Germany, Lithuania and Bali.

Encanto is a pseudonym of the versatile Leonardo Ferreira, a Brazilian artist who embraces the nomadic life and turns it into a rich artistic expression. He has played all over South America and mixes up house and techno with samples and sounds from the 80s and 90s on the likes of U're Guay Records and Cutting Corners. His electro gem 'Esquiva' is a mystic blend of warped synths and ice-cold broken beats that reverberate with cosmic darkness.

Bruce Wine focuses on the dark and enigmatic side of industrial techno, wave and disco and is one-half of a live act with the acclaimed Ninasonik. He once again transports listeners to unknown and fascinating soundscapes on his excellent 'Olmeca Dream', a stark mix of arresting synth drones and menacing bass with plenty of eerie open space.

Lukas Feser is a DJ wizard who has branched out to production with great success after playing records for over a decade. He dives into psychedelic realms, tribal rhythms and ancient chants on 'Amahoro,' a steamy deep techno sound that snakes its way through jungle undergrowth amongst many paranoid voices.

Bali-based BRDN is known for a dark signature sound that explores shady disco, EBM, trance and electro as perfectly exemplified by 'Disco Jedi' with its twitchy and glitchy drums and laser-like synths. There is a sense of intergalactic warfare to this techno stomper that will light up any darkened back room.

Munich-based Alemao returns to Sinchi ahead of outings on the likes of Mélopée, Epicure and Weirdos Records. His superb 'Voyager' is a slow-burning but high-impact deep techno-disco trip with widescreen pads and a forlorn sense of melancholy that lingers in the well-crafted synths.

American TDWS is powered by a passion for EBM, retro vibes, and the electrifying pulse of HI-NRG. On the fantastic 'Chameleon' the producer mixes up nostalgia with innovation and pushes the boundaries as he programs bright Italo arps over thudding post-punk drums. There is a celestial feel to the keys of this most bittersweet sound.
