Sinchi's Altered States collection is back with another forward-thinking collection of artists and music from across the electronic spectrum. This diverse selection is a testament to the A&R skills of the label, which remains a not-for-profit operation that donates all proceeds to its own foundation to support the preservation of indigenous culture.

Tel Aviv's Avi Sakorka opens up and has 20 years of experience behind him making everything from trance to new wave, deep house to downtempo, always with a storytelling melodic edge. He returns after a break of several years with 'Sunset With Tequila,' a summery and colorful sound that combines several influences into a lush electronic soundscape with new wave and disco energy and rich synth work.

Then comes Stevie R & Parisinos, a formable pair who run Inside Out Records. They have appeared on this label before now as well as Me Me Me Recordings, Playground Records, Hard Fist and many more, and work on experimental sounds as Alter Altamont. 'Aphrodite' is an excellently dark and alluring disco cut with a gurgling bassline and celestial melodies over rickety drum machines that keep you locked.

Italian duo Eys Sye and Rämin AKA The Hanumans got together in Milan and are resident DJs at the cult local party The Sanctuary in the city. Their 'Moon to Mars' is a stiff, acid-laced chugger that pounds its way to a disco amongst the stars.

Mexican DJ and producer Lovilla is next and is known for hypnotic melodies, energetic rhythms, and atmospheric textures. His 'Electro Futuro' is an emotional and vibrant tune with lyrics talking about a failed relationship from his past. It is about how he prioritised making music over friendships. "The sounds and the ambiance of the song is how I felt so afraid of the future but was determined that I wasn't going to give up." As such it's a moody and alluring dark wave disco cut with tender melodies and introspective chords.

Tel Aviv-based DJ and producer Magos plays and produces vibrant music that combines indie dance pleasures with acid techno and Middle Eastern instruments. His superb 'Sora' is a track that will make you jump thanks to its elastic bass and signature foreign language vocals - it's curveball and crazy and brings something different to the dance floor.

Milan's Irene Radice makes music to invoke real freedom and has had support for it from the likes of BBC Radio 1 as well as featuring on labels like Renaissance. Her 'Wake Me Up' is a lithe and colourful cosmic trip with elastic synths and bass making you move every limb as the synth-laced adventure continues to take you higher.

Altered States Vol.9 is another brilliantly broad mix of fresh electronic sounds from talents all over the world.
